Welding & Fabrication Shop Foreman

 

Kalos Services is seeking an experienced Welding & Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead the daily operations of our fabrication shop while remaining actively involved in fabrication and welding. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining high-quality workmanship, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

 

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with MIG and Stick welding, fabrication, blueprint reading, and shop operations, along with the leadership skills to supervise and develop a productive team.

 

Job Type & Schedule

  • Location: Clermont, FL
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-Time

 

Compensation

  • $28–32 per hour

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the daily activities of shop personnel
  • Schedule and prioritize fabrication work to meet production deadlines
  • Perform hands-on MIG and Stick welding on steel and other materials
  • Fabricate parts, frames, brackets, supports, and custom assemblies from blueprints, shop drawings, or verbal instructions
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, measurements, and specifications
  • Cut, fit, grind, and prepare materials for welding
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the fabrication process
  • Perform quality inspections before completed work leaves the shop
  • Train and mentor welders, fabricators, and shop personnel
  • Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Monitor inventory of materials, consumables, and shop equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
  • Operate fabrication equipment, grinders, saws, torches, and other shop tools safely and efficiently

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fabrication and welding experience required
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Extensive experience with MIG and Stick welding
  • Strong fabrication, fitting, and layout skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop sketches
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work from detailed specifications
  • Proficient with fabrication equipment, grinders, saws, torches, and common shop tools
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule
