Breakers that keep tripping
A breaker trips to interrupt the circuit when it detects a condition it isn't designed to allow. If the same breaker keeps tripping, resetting it over and over isn't solving the reason it's happening.
Flickering or dimming lights
Occasional flickering can have a simple cause, but recurring flickering or lights that dim when equipment starts can point to a connection, circuit or load issue.
Warm or discolored outlets and switches
Outlets, switches or electrical equipment that feel unusually warm or show signs of discoloration should be evaluated. Heat can be a sign of a loose connection or another electrical problem.

For repair calls, we first need enough information to understand the problem before we can tell you what the repair will involve. For planned projects, the cost can depend on equipment, circuit length, electrical capacity, permitting and other conditions specific to the home. We'll explain the scope and pricing before approved work moves forward.

A few things homeowners ask us.
Why does my breaker keep tripping?
A breaker can trip for several reasons, including an overloaded circuit, a short circuit, a ground fault or a problem with connected equipment. If the same breaker repeatedly trips, it's better to find the cause than continue resetting it.
What should I do if I smell something burning or see electrical damage?
Stay away from equipment that appears unsafe. If there is smoke, active arcing or fire, contact emergency services. For other electrical concerns, stop using the affected equipment or circuit when it is safe to do so and have the problem evaluated rather than repeatedly resetting it.
Can Kalos replace or upgrade my electrical panel?
Yes. We can evaluate the existing panel and electrical service, the condition of the equipment, your home's electrical load and any planned additions before recommending whether repair, replacement or an upgrade makes sense.
Do you install whole-home surge protection?
Yes. We install whole-home surge-protection equipment and make sure the selected equipment is appropriate for the home's electrical system. Surge protection can reduce the risk of damage from certain voltage surges, but no device can protect against every possible electrical event.
Can you install an EV charger?
Yes. We install residential EV charging equipment. Before installation, we look at the charger's electrical requirements, available panel capacity, circuit routing and any permitting or load-management considerations.
Do you work on home generators?
Yes. Kalos provides residential generator installation and electrical support.
Do I need a new electrical panel to add an EV charger?
Not necessarily. The charger's requirements and the home's existing electrical load and capacity determine what is needed. We evaluate the system before recommending a panel or service upgrade.
Why are my lights flickering?
There are a lot of possible reasons, from a loose bulb or device to a connection, circuit, equipment or service issue. When flickering is recurring, widespread or changes when larger equipment turns on, it's worth having the electrical system evaluated.
